BMTC connectivity to Varthur Road East Bangalore

BMTC has launched three new bus routes. These are along the IT corridor. They are made to serve the neighborhoods of Sarjapur road. The MLA named NA Haris, MLC called Rizwan Arshad, and Bellaundur corporate Asha Suresh gave a new service.

Two routes run into the Electronic City. One is clockwise, and the other is in the anticlockwise direction. These cover the neighborhoods of Kasavanahalli, Doaddakannalli, Haralur, and the HSR Layout. There is also a third route. It functions as a loop to Carmelaram Railway Station, covering Doddakannalli, Kadubisanahalli, Bellandur Gate, and Kaikondrahalli.

Reside ts had been asking for a connectivity route for a long. They wanted BMTC services here. Ten thousand people participated in the Save Bellaundur campaign last October. It was a silent protest. It was demanding better public transport in Bellaundur. The drives also submitted a petition to T M Vijay Bhaskar. He is the state's chief secretary.

BMTC plans to implement an intelligent transportation system in Bangalore. It is done to attract riders and increase revenue. They will be incorporating digitalization this year. They will introduce AFCS or Automatic Fare Collection System. Passengers will be able to track buses in real time. The bus stops will get a display board in the airport.

Buses are also supposed to have GPS systems. After covid, BMTC has been struggling. Passengers are shifting to private transport. They are expecting a difference of 5 lacs.

If you live in Hoodi, you no longer have to take your car. You can go to Varthur Kodi in Whitefielsusing BMTC. Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Company's (BMTC) new service will connect Whitefield's inefficient local loops. It has a new Chakra service that will reduce the road's burden.

The BMTC introduced new Chakra services for Whitefield. It will be after months of engagement with local people. There will be midibuses or lightweight buses. It will be on the new Chakra Road (routes eight and 8A). It will travel between TTMC-ITPL-Varthur Kodi-Kunndanahalli-TTMC.

The buses introduced on Chakra routes nine and 9A also travel clockwise and anticlockwise. It is in the same area through a different route. The name of the way is TTMC-Graphite-Hoodi-TTMC-Varthur Kodi-TTMC.

BMTC is also extending the routes. It is giving some 500 series routes up to Kadugudi. It is also making provisions for parking and U-turns. Chakra service will make it more convenient and save a lot of time. BMTC also wants to enhance the connectivity between Whitefiels and the city hubs.

BMTC has used inputs from a study done in EMBARQ. It designed the BIG Trunk and Chakra services. EMBARQ is a nonprofit that wants sustainable and low-pollution transport. The proposals include reorganizing the bus routes. It will create a more efficient network. It will connect the outskirts of the city to the city centers.

Non-AC buses

There was a survey conducted by DULT. It was on behalf of BMTC. It revealed the following things.

• 85% of the commuters travel by BMTC more than four days a week.
• 72% of the users travel by non-AC buses.
• 73% of women feel safe on board.
• 77% of the respondents feel that BMTC services are comfortable.

New Chakra routes

• Chakra routes no eight and 8A Whitefield TTMC to Whitefield TTMC Route TTMC. ITPL, Varthur Kodi, Kundanahalli, TTMC
• Chakra routes nine and 9A Whitefield TTMC to Whirwfield TTMC Route TTM, Graphite, Hoodi, TTMC, Varthur Kodi, TTMC.

Free wifi

Wifi services were inaugurated for Vajra and VayuVajra buses. BMTC says that there was no cost incurred for these services. BMTC is also planning a mobile trip app where passengers can easily access the bus timings.
